Terms for using setem.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement. You may not use setem if you are prohibited from receiving the service under applicable law.

2. Your account and managed profiles

Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and tell us promptly about unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activity performed through your account, including activity performed for every dating profile you manage. One account may manage multiple self-managed or friend-managed dating profiles, but profiles managed by the same account cannot match one another.

When you use a friend-managed profile, other users may reasonably understand that likes, passes, and messages can come from the profile’s manager rather than directly from the person pictured. You must not use that role to mislead, manipulate, or endanger anyone.

3. Consent and friend profiles

Only create or manage a dating profile for another adult with their informed, ongoing permission. Explain that the profile may be visible to other users and that you may be able to edit it, make matching decisions, and participate in conversations for it. Stop managing or remove the profile if that permission is withdrawn.

You must have the right to upload every photo, review, story, message, and other item you submit. Do not impersonate anyone, misstate who is operating a profile, or publish private information without permission. A self-managed user may review and approve a submitted friend vouch before it appears publicly.

4. Acceptable conduct

Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, deceive, stalk, spam, solicit illegal activity, scrape the service, interfere with security, or post unlawful, sexually exploitative, hateful, violent, fraudulent, or rights-infringing content. Do not use setem for commercial matchmaking, advertising, or data collection without written permission.

5. Your content and shared content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant setem a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. You also understand that content you direct to another person—such as a submitted vouch or a delivered message—becomes part of a shared interaction. Deleting your account may not remove every copy from another participant’s account history when limited retention is reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or conversation integrity. Otherwise, this license ends when the content is deleted, subject to temporary backups and limited legal or safety retention.

6. Dating and safety

setem does not conduct background checks or guarantee identity, age, intentions, statements, compatibility, conduct, or outcomes. A friend review is a user-provided opinion—not a rating, professional endorsement, or safety verification. A profile manager’s involvement does not guarantee the conduct of the person shown. You are responsible for your interactions and should use reasonable precautions, keep sensitive information private, confirm who you are communicating with, and meet in public.

7. Service changes and enforcement

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms, create risk, or expose setem or others to liability. We may investigate reports and cooperate with lawful requests.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, setem is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or successful matches. setem is not responsible for user conduct or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.

9. Ending your account

You may stop using setem at any time and request account deletion. Visit our account deletion page. Terms that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive termination.

10. Changes and contact

We may revise these terms and will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Continuing to use setem after updated terms take effect means you accept them. Questions may be sent to legal@setem.app.
